Background
Past
When the King's wife died in childbirth, he grew despondent. The daughter born, though, looked like his lost queen and he loved her deeply. His apparent bias toward his daughter angered his three sons and family relations began to decline. When his daughter disappears the king is in so much grief that his sons have no problem splitting the kingdom and ruling without him.
Present
The King has not been seen for some time. He spends his days grieving in the throne room alone.
